Cellphones and cameras stolen from tour bus

Eleven foreign tourists lost their belongings when thieves broke into their tourist bus in Stellenbosch on Thursday, police said.Stellenbosch police spokesperson Colonel Billy Jones said the bus was parked in the parking area of a wine estate in Stellenbosch when it was broken into just after noon."The tourists - one from Canada, one from Denmark, one from Finland, one from Sweden and seven from Tanzania - left their belongings in the bus while they visited the wine estate," said Jones in a statement."The driver locked the bus and joined the group. They returned to the bus at about 2.30pm and found the door was opened."
The passengers discovered that some of their belongings were gone.Nine passports, two cellphones, two digital cameras, five credit cards, a wrist watch, a laptop computer, an MP3 player and some cash were stolen.A case of theft out of a motor vehicle has been opened.Nobody has been arrested for the crime. - Sapa
